Center a country-style braided rug under a dining table, making sure it’s large enough for the chairs to remain on the rug even when they’re pulled out. For balance and cohesion, emulate the rug orientation with a runner that spans the length of the tabletop.

Include braided chair pads that feature a primitive print that complements the runner and rug. “I always add chair pads to my dining chairs to add a cozy, comfortable feel,”Yvonne reveals. “I love the way they look contrasted to the colors and wood of the table.”

Introduce varied shades and textures with throw pillows, decorative dolls and homespun window valances. Style the area with flower bouquets featuring hues that match the graphics on the pillows and signage.
