FESTIVE FLOURISH

Fashion a charming favor from a few easy-to-find materials. With the addition of a hanger, these holiday mementos could also serve as ornaments.

Materials and Tools

• Craft sticks

• Green ribbon, 5/8" or 7/8" wide

• Textured brown ribbon, 7/8" wide

• Foam snowflake stickers

• Mini jingle bells

• Scissors

• Glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

1. Test the craft stick’s length by positioning it in the center of the top plate in the place setting. If it covers the plate’s design or does not lie flat, trim the stick with scissors.

2. Cut a 11/2" length of brown ribbon, fold it vertically over the stick’s base and glue it in place to resemble a tree trunk.

3. Glue one end of the green ribbon over the edge of the brown ribbon and then weave back and forth to create graduated loops in a tree shape. Dot the back of the ribbon lightly with glue each time it intersects with the craft stick, and press to hold. Once you reach the top of the stick, make a neat cut in the ribbon and adhere.

4. Crown with a snowflake sticker and a jingle bell.
