A MESSAGE FOR EVERY POT
BUILD A CHALKBOARD—PERFECT FOR RECIPE NAMES OR INGREDIENT LISTS—INTO YOUR SLOW COOKER.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Spray paint primer Chalkboard spray paint
Chalk or chalkboard markers
Remove slow cooker insert, lid and knobs, making note of the settings that the knobs control, as these may need to be re-marked on the painted cooker if desired.
Thoroughly wipe clean the outer surface of slow cooker with a damp cloth.
Lightly sand the outer surface using sandpaper.
Cover the bottom edge, handles, electrical cord and any other areas that should not be painted. Be careful when taping the curved areas, making sure the tape bonds to the surface so the spray paint cannot seep through.
In a protected area, evenly spray outer surface with a thin coat of primer. Allow it to dry thoroughly.
Evenly spray outer surface with 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint, allowing the cooker to dry thoroughly between coats.
When last coat is dry, carefully remove tape. Reattach knobs; insert liner and lid. Write on the outside of the slow cooker as desired using chalk or chalkboard markers.
