Twisty Stitches

To make the snowflake or pretzel jar topper, start with a 6-in. piece of burlap and stitch the pattern in white embroidery floss (the two examples use all six strands of floss). Lay burlap over a half-pint jar lid, screw on the ring and trim the edges.
