Savory Steak Salad
Caramelized onion and sirloin steak seasoned with a cinnamon rub make this salad stand out. It’s easy to toss together with packaged greens, blue cheese, dried cranberries and store-bought vinaigrette. —TASTE OF HOME TEST KITCHEN

2 Tbsp. brown sugar, divided 1 tsp. salt ³₄ tsp. ground cinnamon ¹₄ tsp. cayenne pepper ¹₄ tsp. pepper 1 beef top sirloin steak
(1 in. thick and 1 lb.) ³₄ cup balsamic vinaigrette, divided 1 medium onion, sliced
2 Tbsp. butter 1 pkg. (5 oz.) spring mix salad greens ¹₂ cup dried cranberries ¹₄ cup crumbled blue cheese
1. In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp. brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, cayenne and pepper. Rub over both sides of steak. Brush with ¼ cup vinaigrette.
2. Place steak on a broiler pan.
Broil 4 in. from heat until the meat reaches desired doneness
(for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°), 5-6 minutes on each side.
3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender, about 10 minutes. Add remaining brown sugar; cook and stir over medium heat until the onion is browned, 5-10 minutes.
