Preserve the fun of a family vacation by collecting mementos of the trip in a Mason jar.

Fill the bottom of a Mason jar with some soil or sand collected from your vacation spot—this one recalls a summer visit to Grandpa’s farm. Add a favorite photo from the trip, as well as some trinkets or natural items you found along the way.

Embellish with a few storebought miniatures, if desired, to complete the scene. Use a label in or on the jar to note the location and date of the trip. Top with a vintage lid and tie some twine or ribbon around the top to finish the look.
