Green Thumb
An unruly corner blooms.
It started as a difficult-to-mow corner of Helen Sheatz’s yard in Knox, Pennsylvania, but she decided to turn the challenging spot into a rock garden. Her husband, son and grandson all helped to find the rocks and place them, and Helen added an old springhouse door. Suddenly, “my project came to life,” Helen says. She searched flea markets for metal pans, birdhouses and other accents. “It is a beautiful place to go, to relax and enjoy,” Helen says.
