Take a mountain drive into Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands.
COVERED BRIDGES
Somerset County has 10 overed bridges along scenic country roads.
WATERY WONDER
Packsaddle in Fairhope is the only covered bridge in the state with a natural waterfall beneath it. The 12-foot fall spills into a large pool that is an ideal spot for fishing.
ENGINEERING
Built in 1870, the 48-foot bridge has plank siding and spans Brush Creek. The view from either side of the creek is spectacular— but be cautious since the rocks are slippery and the embankment is steep. golaurelhighlands.com
