Roadblock

- DANI BLY WESTMINSTER, MD

IT’S ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA to plan a little flex time into your trips, because you never know what might happen. My husband, Wendell, and I took a cross-country camper trip and stopped in Yellowstone National Park for two days. As we drove through the park the second day, all the vehicles around us suddenly came to a screeching halt. Up ahead, around 20 bison had chosen to take a break and park themselves right in the middle of the road, refusing to budge. They were obviously very content, because they stayed there for five hours!

Eventually day turned into evening. Because we were in our camper and living on “nature’s time,” we made the best of it. We prepared and ate our dinner under the stars until the bison finally decided to move on. One of the greatest gifts in this experience was the gorgeous sunset we witnessed as we waited...priceless. Hubby and I loved every minute.

ALL THE VEHICLES SUDDENLY CAME TO A SCREECHING HALT.
