Every evening in Yosemite National Park, we hiked to our viewing spot and watched Horsetail Fall turn to lava—for less than two minutes each night. Once the setting sun hit El Capitan at the perfect angle, the valley erupted with the howls of spectators. I feel blessed to have captured this winter phenomenon.
