Visit these parks to see spring’s newborn wildlife, wobbly legs and all.

CUSTER STATE PARK, SD

Considering that 1,300 bison (one of the largest herds in North America) freely roam the plains in this park, the chances of seeing baby bison here in late April are excellent.

BAXTER STATE PARK, ME

The and state moose this animal park is is the of a Maine, official known breeding ground. Moose are most active from mid-May through July and in the fall. Look for them at dawn or dusk.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, CO

Within the park boundaries, head to Sheep Lakes in Horseshoe Park in early May to spy baby bighorn sheep at lower elevation.
