sea urchins live in burrows along rocky coastal landscapes from British Columbia to Baja California. I photographed these urchins during a minus low tide at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area near

Newport. Walking among the slippery surfaces of the exposed tide pools can test one’s agility. These minus tides on the Oregon coast only happen a few days during June and July each year.
