Woman’s small (medium, large, X-large, 2X-large) In­struc­tions are given for small­est size, with larger sizes in paren­the­ses. When only 1 num­ber is given, it ap­plies to all sizes.

Pat­tern Notes

Color blocks are worked us­ing the in­tar­sia method. Use a sep­a­rate ball of yarn for each color-block sec­tion, twist­ing yarns to pre­vent holes. Main­tain color se­quences as es­tab­lished while work­ing all shap­ing. Work all shap­ing 1 stitch from edge. Work de­creases as fol­lows: On right-side rows, work [knit 1, k2­tog] at be­gin­ning of row and [ssk, knit 1] at end. On wrong-side rows, work [purl 1, ssp] at be­gin­ning of row and [p2­tog, purl 1] at end.

Work­ing both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge [ev­ery row] 5 times, [ev­ery RS row] 3 times, then [ev­ery 4th row] twice—30 (38, 42, 47, 55) sts each side.

Work even un­til piece mea­sures same as back to shoul­der.

Shape shoul­ders same as back.

Left Sleeve

With larger nee­dle and B, cast on 110 (110, 118, 122, 122) sts. Row 1 (RS): P2, *k2, p2; rep from * to end. Row 2: K2, *p2,k2; rep from * to end.

Change to St st; inc 1 st each end of 5th row, then [ev­ery 8 rows] 3 times— 118 (118, 126, 130, 130) sts.

Work even un­til sleeve mea­sures 5 inches, end­ing with a WS row.

Shape Cap

Bind off 11 (11, 12, 12, 12) sts at beg of next 8 rows—30 (30, 30, 34, 34) sts.

Bind off rem sts.

Right Sleeve

With A, work same as Left Sleeve.

Fin­ish­ing

Weave in ends. Block pieces to fin­ished mea­sure­ments. Sew left shoul­der seam.

Neck­band

With RS fac­ing, us­ing smaller nee­dle and A, knit first 37 (37, 37, 40, 40) sts from back neck holder; with B, knit rem 37 (37, 37, 40, 40) sts from back neck holder; pick up and knit 24 sts evenly along left front neck edge, k27 (27, 27, 30, 30) sts from front neck holder; with A, k27 (27, 27, 30, 30) sts from front neck holder, pick up and knit 26 sts evenly along right front neck edge to shoul­der—178 (178, 178, 190, 190) sts. Row 1 (WS): Main­tain­ing colors as es­tab­lished, k2, *p2, k2; rep from * to end.

Main­tain­ing colors, work 2 more rows in es­tab­lished rib. Bind off all sts in rib. Sew right shoul­der and neck­band seam. Pm on front and back ap­prox 83/4 (83/4, 91/4, 91/2, 91/2) inches down from shoul­der seams; sew sleeves to arm­hole edges be­tween mark­ers.

Sew side and sleeve seams.
