Work in garter st (knit ev­ery row) un­til piece mea­sures 16 (161/2, 161/2, 17) inches, end­ing with a WS row.

Sizes Small (Medium) Only Row 1 (RS): Bind off 3 sts, knit across— 44 (46) sts. Row 2: Bind off 3 sts, knit across—41 (43) sts. Row 3: K1, k2­tog, knit to last 3 sts, k2­tog-tbl, k1—39 (41) sts. Row 4: Knit. Rows 5–10: [Rep Rows 3 and 4] 3 times— 33 (35) sts.

Work even un­til arm­hole mea­sures 8 (81/2) inches, end­ing with a WS row.

Shape Neck

Row 1 (RS): K13 (14, 13, 14); slip next 7 (7, 9, 9) sts to a holder for front neck, at­tach a 2nd ball of yarn, k13 (14, 13, 14). Row 2: Work­ing both sides at once with sep­a­rate balls of yarn, knit across. Row 3: Knit to last 3 sts of first side, k2­tog, k1; on 2nd side, k1, k2­tog, knit across. Assem­bly

Col­lar

Hold piece with RS of back fac­ing, with cir­cu­lar nee­dle, k15 (15, 17, 17) sts from back neck holder, pick up and knit 10 sts evenly along left front neck edge, k7 (7, 9, 9) sts from front neck holder, pick up and knit 10 sts evenly along right front neck edge—42 (42, 46, 46) sts. Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * around. Rep Rnd 1 un­til col­lar mea­sures 8 inches. Bind off loosely in rib­bing. Sew shoul­der seams. Sew sleeves to body, match­ing cen­ter of bound-off edge of sleeves to shoul­der seams and eas­ing as nec­es­sary to fit. Sew sleeve and side seams.
