Spe­cial Tech­nique

Carry-Up Join: Insert RH nee­dle from front to back un­der strand from dropped cast-on st, knit next st on LH nee­dle, then use LH nee­dle to lift strand from dropped cast-on st over last st on RH nee­dle as if to bind off.

Pat­tern Notes

The front and back of the gar­ment are each worked from the bot­tom up. The bor­ders are worked side­ways in strips and sewn on af­ter­ward.

The bor­der pieces are the same width for all sizes. When work­ing bor­ders, place a marker in­di­cat­ing the RS of the work.

Use back­ward-loop cast-on (see page 111) through­out.

With A, cast on 116 (124, 132, 143, 154) sts. Knit 1 row. Beg with a knit row, work in St st un­til piece mea­sures 161/2 (171/2, 181/2, 20, 211/2) inches.

Bind off all sts.
