Gauge

16 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches/10cm in Lace Col­umns pat us­ing larger nee­dles (blocked). To save time, take time to check gauge.

Slip, slip, purl (ssp): Slip 2 sts 1 at a time kwise to RH nee­dle; re­turn sts to LH nee­dle in turned po­si­tion and p2­tog-tbl—a left-lean­ing sin­gle dec.

Pat­tern Stitches

Clus­ter (mul­ti­ple of 3 sts + 5) Row 1 (RS): K3, *yo, k3, then pass first st over last 2 sts and off the nee­dle; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2. Row 2: K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2. Row 3: K2, *k3, then pass first st over last 2 sts and off the nee­dle, yo; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3. Row 4: K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.

Lace Col­umns (mul­ti­ple of 4 sts + 2) Row 1 (WS): P1, *p2, yo, p2­tog; rep from * to last st, p1. Row 2 (RS): K1, *k2, yo, skp; rep from * to last st, k1.

Top is worked in 2 pieces from the bot­tom up, then seamed. Sleeves are in­te­grated into front and back pieces.

When shap­ing, work de­creases as fol­lows: Work k1, k2­tog at be­gin­ning of right-side rows and ssk, k1 at end. Work p1, ssp at be­gin­ning of wrong-side rows and p2­tog, p1 at end.

Back

With smaller nee­dles, cast on 77 (86, 95, 101, 110) sts. Rows 1–5: Knit. Row 6 (WS): K2, *p2­tog, yo; rep from * to last 3 (2,3, 3, 2) sts, p1 (0,1, 1, 0), k2. Rows 7–11: Knit. Row 12 (WS): Purl.

Work Clus­ter pat un­til piece mea­sures 5 inches, end­ing with a WS row; pm at each end of last row worked.

Knit 5 rows. Eye­let row (WS): K2, *p2­tog, yo; rep from * to last 3 (2,3, 3, 2) sts, p1 (0,1, 1, 0), k2.

Knit 4 rows, end­ing with a WS row. Next row (RS): Knit across and inc 1 (inc 0, dec 1, inc 1, inc 0) st(s) at cen­ter of row—78 (86, 94, 102, 110) sts.

Change to larger nee­dles; work Lace Col­umns pat un­til piece mea­sures 16 inches, end­ing with a WS row. Shape Sleeves Cast on 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows— 86 (94, 102, 110, 118) sts.

Work­ing new sts into es­tab­lished pat, work even un­til sleeves mea­sure 71/2 (8, 81/2, 9, 91/2) inches, end­ing with a WS row. Shape Shoul­ders Bind off 5 (5,6, 7, 7) sts at beg of next 10 (2, 6, 10, 2) rows, then bind off 0 (6,7, 0, 8) sts at the beg of next 0 (8,4, 0, 8) rows.

Leave rem 36 (36, 38, 40, 40) sts on holder for back neck.

Front

Work same as for back un­til sleeves mea­sure 61/2 (7, 71/2, 8, 81/2) inches, end­ing with a WS row—86 (94, 102, 110, 118) sts. Shape Neck & Shoul­ders Divi­sion row (RS): Work 34 (38, 41, 44, 48) sts; trans­fer cen­ter 18 (18, 20, 22, 22) sts to holder for front neck; join a 2nd ball of yarn and work in pat to end.

Work­ing both sides at once with sep­a­rate balls of yarn, dec 1 st at each neck edge [ev­ery row] 9 times, and at the same time, when arm­hole mea­sures 71/2 (8, 81/2, 9, 91/2) inches, shape shoul­ders as for back.

Fin­ish­ing

Block pieces to fin­ished mea­sure­ments. Sew shoul­der seams. Neck Edg­ing With RS fac­ing, us­ing cir­cu­lar nee­dle and beg at right shoul­der seam, pick up and knit 80 (80, 84, 88, 88) sts evenly around neck opening, in­clud­ing sts on hold­ers; pm for beg of rnd. Purl 1 rnd; knit 1 rnd. Bind off all sts pwise. Arm­hole Edg­ing With RS fac­ing and us­ing smaller nee­dle, pick up and knit 64 (68, 72, 76, 80) sts evenly along sleeve edge. Rows 1–4: Knit. Row 5 (Eye­let row, WS): K2, *p2­tog, yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2. Rows 6–8: Knit. Bind off all sts kwise. Sew sleeve and side seams to side mark­ers, leav­ing side edge be­low mark­ers open for side vent.

Weave in ends.
