Work in garter st (knit all rows) un­til back mea­sures 11/2 inches (about 10 rows, 5 ridges on RS), end­ing with a WS row. Change to larger nee­dles. Work in St st un­til back mea­sures 131/2 (14, 141/2, 15, 151/2) inches, end­ing with a WS row. Neck­line Edg­ing Row 1 (RS): Knit. Assem­bly

Steam pieces lightly on WS: Do not touch iron to pieces, just al­low steam to pen­e­trate fab­ric, and then flat­ten lightly with palms and match to mea­sure­ments. With RS fac­ing, lay pieces so that shoul­ders match. Sew left shoul­der, then sew right shoul­der. Weave in ends of yarn. Place a marker 8 (81/2, 9, 91/2, 10) inches down from shoul­der on both front and back, on left and right sides of body of sweater.

Left Sleeve

With RS fac­ing and beg at marker on left front, with larger nee­dle, pick up and knit 33 (35, 37, 39, 41) sts evenly spaced to shoul­der, then pick up and knit 33 (35, 37, 39, 41) sts along back edge to marker—66 (70, 74, 78, 82) sts. Set-up row (WS): P24 (26, 28, 30, 32),
