18 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches/10cm in

garter st. To save time, take time to check gauge.

Front/Back

Make 2 Cen­ter Mitered Square Cast on 109 (117, 137, 145, 153, 169) sts. Mark cen­ter st, leav­ing 54 (58, 68, 72, 76, 84) sts on ei­ther side of marker. Row 1 (RS): Sl 1, knit to end. Row 2: Sl 1, knit to 1 st be­fore marked st, sl 2, k1, p2sso (dou­ble dec), knit to end. Rep Rows 1 and 2 un­til 3 sts rem. Next row: K3­tog. Fas­ten off. Lower Corners Turn mitered square with cen­ter of cast-on row to­ward bot­tom. With RS fac­ing, pick up and knit 54 (58, 68, 72, 76, 84) sts along 1 lower edge. Row 1 (WS): K2­tog, knit to last 2 sts, ssk. Row 2: Knit across. Rep Rows 1 and 2 un­til 2 sts rem. Next row: K2­tog. Fas­ten off. Rep on op­po­site lower side.

Sleeves

With RS fac­ing, pick up and knit 54 (58, 68, 72, 76, 84) sts along 1 up­per edge of square. Note: Since first st of each row was slipped when knit­ting the cen­ter square, there should be the same num­ber of slipped sts along the edge as you need to pick up. Work in garter st, dec 1 st at top edge (near­est point of di­a­mond) ev­ery WS row un­til 36 (36, 40, 44, 48, 48) sts rem. Con­tinue to work es­tab­lished dec, and at the same time, inc 1 st at other edge ev­ery WS row to main­tain st count while keep­ing top edge straight un­til sleeve mea­sures 171/2 (18, 18, 181/2, 19, 19) inches from un­der­arm. Bind off. Rep on op­po­site up­per side.

Assem­bly

Lay front and back with WS tog. Place mark­ers 6 (6,6, 6, 7, 7) inches from tip of cen­ter di­a­mond out on each side along top edge for neck open­ing. Sew sleeve top seams from mark­ers to cuffs. Sew lower sleeve and side seams.
