Pattern Notes

This shawl is worked from side to side, using short-row shaping and cast-on and bound-off stitches to create a crescent shape.

It’s composed of a series of wedges that are shaped using short rows. Once each wedge has been completed, stitches are cast on at the border edge of the following wedge and bound off at the garter-stitch edge. This causes the lace pattern to shift one repeat to the left with every new wedge.

Always bind off loosely, using Stretchy Bind-Off or your preferred elastic bind-off.

After completing each full wedge, hide the wraps in the lace section as you come to them. There’s no need to hide the wraps in the garter stitch section because they won’t be noticeable.

If desired, pin 25-inch strand of non-stretchy waste yarn, at center of shawl to aid in marking radius of shawl when pinning Border pat edge.
