Knitting DNA

Creative Knitting - - THIS JUST IN -

What do knitting, anatomy and technology have in common? Artist Channing Hansen explored this in a gallery opening last year. By using codes from his own DNA, Hansen created computer-generated algorithms to make up handknitting instructions for color, fiber and stitch. Each piece, some even knit with phosphorescing yarns, is vibrant and utterly unique. Learn more about Hansen’s unusual “painting” style at www.stephenfriedman.com.
