This airy tunic is a simple quick knit and just right for warm-weather wear.

11 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches/10cm in St st, blocked. To save time, take time to check gauge.
This simple tunic is made up of easyto-knit rectangles. It’s worked from the bottom up in pieces and then seamed using single crochet.
The thick-and-thin nature of this yarn can make it difficult to achieve gauge. Try to get as close as possible to the stated gauge to ensure that your garment comes out the correct size.
For the most accurate finished dimensions, stretch the fabric out horizontally a little when measuring.
Weave yarn tails into seams, not into main fabric.
Back Cast on 52 (58, 64, 68, 74, 80) sts.
Knit 8 rows.
Change to St st and work 3 inches with 5-st garter borders, ending with a WS row, as follows: Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2 (WS): Sl 1, k4 (edge sts), purl to last 5 sts, k5 (edge sts).
Discontinue garter borders; work 4 rows in St st. Dec row (RS): K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1—50 (56, 62, 66, 72, 78) sts.
Work 9 rows even, then rep Dec row—48 (54, 60, 64, 70, 76) sts.
Work even until back measures 24 (24, 251/2, 251/2, 27, 27) inches, ending with a WS row.
Bind off all sts. Front Work the same as back. Sleeves Cast on 49 (49, 53, 53, 61, 61) sts. Knit 8 rows. Work in St st until sleeve measures 7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9) inches, ending with a WS row.
Bind off all sts.
Using crochet hook, work single crochet seams (see page 81).
Work shoulder seams 13/4 (13/4, 2, 21/4, 21/2, 23/4) inches in from outside edge, leaving center 13 (15, 161/2, 171/2, 19, 21) inches open for neck.
Center sleeves along armhole edges and crochet in place. Work sleeve seams. Work side seams, leaving the garter borders open for split opening at bottom of tunic. Weave in ends. Block to finished measurements.
