Yarn Substitution

Creative Knitting - - THIS JUST IN - BY TABETHA HEDRICK

There have been plenty of times when I messed up in choosing a yarn. I knit a pair of mitts several years ago and, in the words of the knight to Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I “chose poorly.” Instead of going for a yarn of structure and elasticity, I used a bamboo fiber that resulted in a slippery, sloppy mess. What was I thinking? The point is, we all go through trial and error in the beginning, but the following tips (learned from my own mistakes) will help prevent the same angst.
