JOINING

Row 35: Ch 3, dc in next 28 dc across Right Front, dc in first st of Back, place stitch marker between last st on Right Front and first st on Back, dc across, working 3 dc in center dc of 3-dc groups, work dc in st on Left Front, place stitch marker between last st on back and first

st on Left Front, dc in each rem st across, turn.

Row 36: Ch 3, dc in each st across to marker, work 3 dc in marked st, dc in next st across working 3 dc in center dc of each 3-dc group across to next marker, work 3 dc in marked st, dc in each rem st across, turn, remove markers.

Rows 37–40: Rep rows 5–8. At the end of row 40, fasten off.

CAPE EDGING

Rnd 1: With RS facing, join yarn at center back neck, sc across to left neck edge, 3 sc in corner, sc evenly down Left Front to bottom left corner, work 3 sc in corner, sc across bottom, working 3 sc in center dc of each 3-dc group to right corner, work 3 sc in corner, sc evenly up Right Front to right neck edge, work 3 sc in corner, sc across back of neck, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, [sc in each sc to center sc of corner, 3 sc in corner] twice, sc across bottom edge, 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group in corner, sc up Right Front to 2 sc before center corner sc, ch 3, sk 2 sc (buttonhole made), 3 sc in center corner st, sc in each rem sc across, join in beg sc.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, [sc in each sc to center corner sc, 3 sc in center corner sc] around until ch-3 sp of buttonhole, work 4 sc in ch-3 sp of buttonhole, sc in next st, 3 sc in next st, sc in each rem sc, join in beg sc. Fasten off. Sew button to Left Front of Cape opposite buttonhole.

ARMHOLE EDGING

Rnd 1: With RS facing, join yarn in side edge of row 34 of opening, ch 1, work 54 sc evenly sp around Armhole opening, join in beg sc. Fasten off. Rep rnd 1 on rem Armhole opening.
