4 cakes #4015 radical botanical

• Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

• Stitch markers: 12

• 16-inch diameter round

GAUGE

WS measuremen­t: 3 tr = 1 inch; 3 tr rnds = 2 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch unless otherwise stated. Do not join rounds unless otherwise indicated. Place stitch marker in back loop of first stitch of all half double crochet and treble crochet rounds to mark beginning first stitch, and move marker to first stitch of next round as work progresses.

SPECIAL STITCH

Increase rnd (inc rnd): Working in back of indicated st, insert hook in horizontal bar directly below top lps.

Notes: Before stitching inc rnds, turn to WS to easily see sts and place a st marker in every st of previous rnd where inc are to be made. Fold leaves of previous rnd forward out of way when working inc rnd.

Make 2. Rnd 1: Ch 2, 12 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, join (see Pattern Notes) in front lp (see Stitch Guide) of first hdc. Place marker (see Pattern Notes) in back lp (see Stitch Guide) of first hdc, do not join (see Pattern Notes). (12 hdc) Rnd 2: [Ch 3, sk next 2 sts, sl st in front lp of next st] 4 times. (4 ch-3 lps) Rnd 3: [(Sc, hdc, 3 dc, ch 2, sc around post of last dc— leaf tip made, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-3 lp] 4 times. (4 leaves) Rnd 4: Working in horizontal back bar (see illustrati­on) of hdc sts 3 rnds below, 2 tr in each st around. (24 tr)

Rnd 13 Inc rnd: 2 tr in first st, tr in each of next 3 sts, [2 tr in next st, tr in each of next 3 sts] around. (60 tr) Rnds 14 & 15: Rep rnds 2 and 3. (20 leaves)

Rnds 32 & 33: Rep rnds 2 and 3. At the end of rnd 33, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (44 leaves)

ASSEMBLY

With RS facing block Pillow pieces, arranging leaves to lie smooth and flat. Let dry completely. With Pillow pieces WS tog and working through both layers of sts of rnd 31, sl st join unworked back lp of any tr of first layer to front facing lp of any tr of back layer, sl st in same manner in each st around inserting pillow form before closing. Fasten off. (132 sl sts)
