PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

Be­gin­ning de­crease (Bdec): Ch 2, sk first st, keep­ing last lp on hook, dc in each of next 2 sc, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook. (2 sts dec) End­ing de­crease (edec): Keep­ing last lp of each dc on hook, work dc in each of last 3 sts, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook. (2 sts dec) Sin­gle cro­chet join (sc join): Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and draw up a lp, yo and pull through both lps on hook.

Make 5 each red & green. Row 1 (WS): With size H hook, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 2 chs, turn. (3 sc) Row 2 (RS): Ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), dc in first sc, dc in next sc, 2 dc in last sc, turn. (5 dc) Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Row 4: Ch 3, dc in first sc, dc in each sc across to last sc, 2 dc in last sc, turn. (7 dc) Rows 5–26: [Rep rows 3 and 4] 11 times. (29 dc)

Row 27: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 28: Bdec (see Spe­cial Stitches), dc in each st across to last 3 sts of row, edec (see Spe­cial Stitches), turn. (25 sts) Rows 29–38: [Rep last 2 rows] 5 times. (5 sts)

Row 39: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 40: Ch 2, edec in next 3 sts, dc in last st. Fas­ten off. (3 sts)

Make 5.

Rnd 1: With size H hook and white, ch 5, join (see Pat­tern

Notes) in 5th ch from hook to form a ring. Work 12 sc in ring, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as join­ing, *ch 7, sc in 5th ch from hook, ch 2, sc in next sc**, sc in next sc, rep from * around, end­ing last rep at **, join in beg sc, fas­ten off leav­ing a 24-inch tail for sewing.

ASSEM­BLY

Re­fer­ring to Assem­bly Di­a­gram and with RS held tog, whip­stitch (see il­lus­tra­tion) Sec­tions tog, al­ter­nat­ing red and green and leav­ing 1 seam un­sewn. Beg at cen­ter sc of 3-sc cor­ner, sew through match­ing sts up to and in­clud­ing first sc of 2-sc side cor­ner.

Re­fer­ring to photo, sew 1 Snowflake on each red Sec­tion.
