I strongly suggest using bobbins. Bobbins will help keep your yarn tangle-free and help with smooth color changes. For those of you who have never used bobbins before, try this: When you are ready to change colors, move the working bobbin to the front of your work and then pull your new bobbin over the working bobbin yarn. This technique will ensure that the previous color does not show on the front of your work. Also, be sure to crochet tightly when working any intarsia project to avoid unwanted holes in the final design. You want the image to be crisp and clear.
