This project is an easy in­tro­duc­tion to the Solomon’s knot in a beau­ti­ful and del­i­cate scarf.

• Manos del Uruguay Ser­ena sport weight al­paca/ cot­ton yarn ( 13/4 oz/ 170 yds/ 50g per skein): 2 skeins # 2133 seashell • Size H/ 8/ 5mm cro­chet hook or size needed to ob­tain gauge • Ta­pes­try nee­dle


19 sc = 4 inches; rows 1– 6 = 2 inches


For a longer or shorter Scarf, in­crease or de­crease foun­da­tion chain in mul­ti­ples of 4. Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Chain-5 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first dou­ble tre­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. When in­structed to work into a Solomon’s knot, work into the clos­ing sin­gle cro­chet of the stitch. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.


Solomon’s knot (SK): Draw up lp on hook to 3/ 8 inch, ch 1, sc in sp be­tween sin­gle and dou­ble strands (to close st).
