Row 498 [528]: Ch 1, work­ing through both lps of pre­vi­ous row, sc in each of next 5 sts, [ch 5, sk next 5 sts, sc in each of next 5 sts] 3 times, ch 5, sk next 5 sts, sc in each of last 5 sts. Fas­ten off.

BUT­TON BAND

Get­ting started: Along edge, 1 row of sl st forms the rib and the next row of sl st forms the val­ley. Row 1: On neck edge, beg in end of row 1, join with sc, sc in each val­ley of rib­bing 38 times, check that this is the same length or slightly shorter than row 498 [ 528], ad­just­ing as nec­es­sary, turn. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fas­ten off. Sew but­tons into place on But­ton Band. Weave in all ends.
