PATTERN NOTES

Garment is constructed in 1 piece beginning at Left Sleeve cuff and ending at Right Sleeve cuff. When counting stitches, each chain- 1 counts as a stitch. Chain- 2 at beginning of row counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated. Chain- 3 at beginning of row counts as first half double crochet and chain- 1 unless otherwise stated. When instructed to increase 1 stitch at each end of row, work as follows: If the previous row ends with 2 stitches together, the increase on the following row is made by working 2 stitches in the first stitch and a chain- 1 space in the 2nd stitch. If the previous row ends with a chain- 1 space then a stitch, the increase on the following row is made by working 1 stitch and a chain- 1 space in the first stitch and a stitch in the chain- 1 space. Work in reverse at the end of the row. Once the increases start, a pattern row 1 might look like a row 2 or a row 5 might look like a row 6. Maintain the established pattern across by working stitches into chain- 1 spaces and chain- 1 spaces over stitches. When instructed to decrease 1 stitch at each end of row, work as follows: If the previous row ends with 2 stitches, the decrease at the start of the following row is made by working a single crochet decrease ( see Stitch Guide) or half double crochet decrease ( see Stitch Guide) in the first 2 stitches, then work a stitch in the next chain- 1 space. If the previous row ends with a chain- 1 space and a stitch, the decrease on the following row is made by working single crochet decrease or half double crochet decrease in the stitch and space, then chain- 1 and skip next stitch. Work in reverse at the end of the row. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
