GAUGE

1 large flower mea­sures 53/4 [63/4] inches in di­am­e­ter. 1 medium flower mea­sures 5 [53/4] inches in di­am­e­ter. 1 wheel mea­sures 3 [31/4] inches in di­am­e­ter. Large flower + wheel mea­sures 83/4 [10] inches across. Medium flower + wheel mea­sures 8 [9] inches across. All mea­sure­ments are taken across from tip to tip. Take time to check gauge.

PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in ends as work pro­gresses. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round or row counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain- 4 at be­gin­ning of round or row counts as first tre­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

Be­gin­ning 4-tre­ble cro­chet de­crease ( beg 4-tr dec): Ch 4, sk st at base of ch- 4, [yo twice, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up lp, {yo, pull through 2 lps} twice] 3 times, yo, pull through all 4 lps on hook. 4-tre­ble cro­chet de­crease (4-tr dec): [ Yo twice, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up lp, {yo, pull through 2 lps} twice] 4 times, yo, pull through all 5 lps on hook. Pi­cot: Ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook. Pi­cot join: Ch 3, sc in ad­ja­cent mo­tif where in­di­cated, ch 2, sc in 5th ch from hook.

TU­NIC LARGE FLOWER

Make 6 [12]. Ch 6 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.

Rnd 1: Ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch-2), [1 dc in ring, ch 2] 7 times, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in 3rd ch at beg of rnd. (8 dc with ch 2 sps be­tween each) Rnd 2: Sl st in first ch sp, [ ch 4 (see Pat­tern Notes), 3 tr] in first ch sp, [ch 2, 4 tr in next chsp] 7 times, ch 2, join in 4th ch at beg of rnd.

Rnd 3: Beg 4-tr dec (see Spe­cial Stitches) in first 4 sts, ch 6, 1 dc in ch-2- sp, ch 6, [ 4 tr- dec (see Spe­cial Stitches), ch 6, 1 dc in ch-2- sp, ch 6] 7 times, join at top of first tr- group.

Rnd 4: Work 2 sl sts and 1 sc to the cen­ter of first ch- sp, [ch 5, 1 sc in next ch- sp] around, ch 5, join in first sc at beg of rnd.

First Large Flower Only

Rnd 5: Ch 5, sc in first ch, 4 sc in first ch5sp, [ pi­cot (see Spe­cial Stitches), 4 sc in next ch5- sp] 15 times, join in first ch at beg of rnd. Fas­ten off.

Fol­low­ing Large Flow­ers Only

Rnd 5: Work as rnd 5 on first flower, but at the con­nect­ing points in­stead of ch 5 pi­cots, work pi­cot joins (see Spe­cial Stitches) in ad­ja­cent mo­tifs. Fas­ten off.

MEDIUM FLOWER

Make 32. Ch 6 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Work [Rnds 1–3] as for Large Flower.

First Medium Flower Only

Rnd 4: Ch 5, sc in first ch, 4 sc in first ch6sp, [pi­cot,4 sc in next ch6- sp] 15 times, join in first ch at beg of rnd.

Fol­low­ing Medium Flow­ers Only

Rnd 4: Work as for rnd 4 on first flower, but at the con­nect­ing points in­stead of ch 5 pi­cots, work pi­cot joins in ad­ja­cent mo­tifs. Fas­ten off.

HALF FLOWER

Ch 4 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.

Row 1: Ch 5, [1 dc in ring, ch 2] 3 times, 1 dc in ring, turn. (5 dc with ch-2 sps be­tween each)

Row 2: Ch 4, 3 tr in first ch-2 sp, [ch 2, 4 tr in next ch sp] twice, ch 2, 4 tr in last ch sp, turn.

Row 3: Ch 9, [4-tr dec (work­ing 1 tr in each tr from pre­vi­ous row), ch 6, 1 dc in ch-2- sp from pre­vi­ous row, ch 6] 3 times, 4-tr dec, ch 6, 1 dc in first tr from pre­vi­ous row, turn.

Row 4: Ch 8, 1 sc in first ch sp, [ch 5, 1 sc in next ch sp] 7 times, ch 5, 1 dc in 3rd ch from pre­vi­ous row, turn.

TU­NIC

Start­ing at the bot­tom of Tu­nic, work first hor­i­zon­tal panel of con­nected Large Flow­ers and Wheels as shown in As­sem­bly Di­a­gram. Start with a large flower us­ing smaller [larger] hook. Smaller size starts with 1 hor­i­zon­tal panel with Large Flow­ers and then Medium Flow­ers for the rest of the gar­ment, Larger size starts with 2 hor­i­zon­tal pan­els with Large Flow­ers and then Medium Flow­ers for the rest of the gar­ment. Work con­nected mo­tifs as shown in chart, end­ing with the Wheel in each arm­hole and then the 4 Half Flow­ers around the Neck­line.

Neck­line

Start­ing in the cen­ter of a Half Flower on one shoul­der join with a sl st in cen­ter.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, [1 sc in cen­ter, 2 sc in next sp, 3 sc in next sp, 2 sc in each of next 2 sps, 1 sc in next sc, ch 3, 1 sc in first open point on Wheel, ch 3, 1 sc in next open point on the same Wheel, ch 3, 1 sc in first sc on next Half Flower, 2 sc in each of next 2 sps, 3 sc in next sp, 2 sc in next sp] 4 times, end­ing with a sl st in first sc. (128 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), dc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sts [1 dc in next st, dc dec in next 2 sts] around, dc in each of last 2 sts, sl st in 3rd ch at beg of rnd. (86 dc)

Rnds 3–5: Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, end­ing with sl st in 3rd ch at beg of rnd.

Last rnd: Ch 1, re­verse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each st around. Fas­ten off. C!
