• Cas­cade Yarns Cherub Baby sport ( fine) weight ny­lon/ acrylic yarn ( 13/4 oz/ 229 yds/ 50g per skein): 1 skein each # 17 grey, # 01 white and

# 05 baby mint • Size G/ 6/ 4mm cro­chet hook or size needed

to ob­tain gauge • 32 inches of 3/ 8- inch co­or­di­nat­ing

satin rib­bon • Ta­pes­try nee­dle

GAUGE

4 sts = 1 inch; 4 sc rows = 1 inch; 2 hdc rows = 3/4 inch

PAT­TERN NOTE

If a smaller Boot is de­sired, use a size F hook. For an even tinier Boot, use fin­ger­ing- or sock­weight yarn. For ba­bies age 3– 6 months, use size H hook.

SPECIAL STITCH

Pop­corn (pc): 5 dc in next st, drop lp from hook, insert hook in first st of 5- dc group, pull dropped lp through.

SOLE

Rnd 1: With grey, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 7 chs; 5 sc in last ch (toe); work­ing on op­po­site side of chs, sc in next 7 chs, 2 sc in last ch, join with sl st in first sc. (22 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in same st, hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 5 sts, hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, join with sl st in top of ch-2. (30 hdc)

Rnd 3: (Ch 2, hdc) in first st, hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, join. Do not fas­ten off. Pull up long lp to be picked up later. (36 sts)

SIDES

Rnd 4: Work­ing in back lps (see Stitch Guide), join white with sc in first st, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.

Rnd 5: Join baby mint with sc in first st, sc in each st around, join. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.

Rnd 6: Pick up grey from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1, sc in each st around, join. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.

CUFF

Rnd 7: Pick up white from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1, sc in first 10 sts; ch 6, sk next 16 sts (for open­ing); sc in last 10 sts, join. Pull up long lp to be picked up later. (20 sc, 6 chs)

Rnd 8: Pick up baby mint from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 2 (is not used or counted as a st), dc in next 9 sts, dc in next 6 chs, dc in next 8 sts, dc last 2 sts tog, join with sl st in first dc. Pull up long lp to be picked up later. (24 dc)

Rnd 9: Pick up grey from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1 (does not count as a st), fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around each of first 2 sts, bpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next st, [fpdc around each of next 2 sts, bpdc around next st] around, join with sl st in first fpdc. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.

Rnd 10: Pick up white from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1, fpdc around each of first 2 fpdc, pc (see Special Stitch) in next bpdc, [fpdc around each of next 2 fpdc, pc in next bpdc] around, join. Fas­ten off.

Av­er­age An­kle Only Rnd 12: Pick up baby mint from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, sk next st, [sc in next 2 sts, sk next st] around, join with sl st in first sc. Fas­ten off. (16 sc)

Chubby An­kle Only Rnd 12: Pick up baby mint from 2 rnds be­fore last, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc. Fas­ten off. (24 sc)

VAMP

Row 1: Work­ing in back lps only, join grey with sc in 6th sk st of rnd 6 at open­ing on Boot, sc in next 5 sts leav­ing rem sts un­worked, turn. (6 sc)

Rows 2– 6: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fas­ten off. Sew Vamp to open­ing on Boot, work­ing through back lps only of sk sts on rnd 6. Cut rib­bon in half. Cen­ter and weave rib­bon through ev­ery 2 st s of rnd 5 on Cuff; tie into bow. C!
