GAUGE

17 sc = 4 inches; Granny Square = 4 inches

PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Do not join rounds un­less oth­er­wise stated; place stitch marker to mark beg of rounds.

Rnd 1: Ch 6, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), 2 dc in ring, ch 3 (cor­ner sp), [3 dc in ring, ch 3 (cor­ner sp)] 3 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, turn. (12 dc, 4 ch-3 sps) Rnd 2: Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next cor­ner ch-3 sp, ch 1, [(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 cor­ner sp, ch 1] 3 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, turn.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, [(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next cor­ner ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next cor­ner ch-3 sp, ch 1, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, turn.

TOE

Rnd 2: Work­ing in back lps (see Stitch Guide) of sts, sc around, inc 6 sc evenly sp around. (12 [14, 16] sc)

Rnds 3– 6: Rep rnd 2. (36 [38, 40] sc)

Rnds 7–11 [7–12, 7–13]: Work­ing in back lps, sc around. At end of last rep, do not fas­ten off.

FOOT

Row 1: Now work­ing in rows, con­tinue to work in back lps of sts, sc in each of next 20 [22, 24] sc of Toe, leav­ing rem sts un­worked, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in back lp of each of next 20 [22, 24] sc, turn. Rep row 2 un­til Foot width matches width of Granny Square (4 inches). At end of last rep, leav­ing 24- inch length, fas­ten off. Po­si­tion Granny Square on rem sts of Toe and each side of Foot on each side of Granny Square. With rem length, sew Foot and Toe to 3 sides of Granny Square.

HEEL

Row 1: With RS fac­ing, work­ing on rem side of Granny Square and work­ing in back lps, join yarn with sc in 3rd dc to right of left- hand cor­ner ch-3 sp, sc in each of next 2 dc, sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in each of next 20 [22, 24] sc across Foot, sc in next ch-3 sp of cor­ner of Granny Square, sc in each of next 3 dc, turn. (28 [30, 32] sc)

Row 2: Work­ing in back lp of sts, ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 3: Rep row 2.

Row 4: Work­ing in back lps, ch 1, sc in each st across to last st, 2 sc in last st, turn. (29 [31, 33] sc)

Rows 5–9: Rep row 4. (34 [36, 38] sc)

Rep row 2 un­til Slip­per mea­sures 83/4 [91/2, 101/2] inches from beg. At the end of last rep, leav­ing a length of yarn, fas­ten off. Fold Heel in half and sew cen­ter back Heel closed.

TRIM

Rnd 1: Now work­ing in rnds, join yarn with sc at cen­ter back Heel seam, work even num­ber of sc evenly sp around en­tire outer edge, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, dc) in first sc, sk next sc, [(sc, ch 3, dc) in next sc, sk next sc] around, join in beg sc. Fas­ten off. C!
