WAFFLE STITCH COWL
Using a larger-than-normal hook on sport-weight yarn creates an easy, lacy-looking piece using simple double crochet!
8 inches wide x 30 inches in circumference
• Premier Yarns Chamonix fine ( sport) weight acrylic/ polyamide/ mohair yarn ( 3 oz/ 380 yds/ 85g per ball):
1 ball # 1065- 08 misty gray • Size K/ 101/2/ 6.5mm crochet hook or size
needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle
[Fpdc, dc] 3 times = 1 inch
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook (beg 3 sk chs count as first dc) and in each rem ch, turn. (25 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), * fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * across, ending with dc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn. (13 dc, 12 fpdc) [Rep row 2] 70 times. Leaving a long tail, fasten off.
With RS held tog, sew short ends tog. C!
