PATTERN NOTES

Scarf is made starting with a granny square motif in the center. The 2 halves of the scarf are worked in rows off of the edges of the square, alternating colors for each row. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as a double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Each row needs to begin and end with a long tail (5 or 6 inches) as it will be part of the fringe. The chain-2 at the end of each row is meant to be pulled tightly enough that the chain is no longer visible and is more of a knot to ensure the end is secure. The fringe that is added later will cover this.

SPECIAL STITCH

Matching fringe color to color of row, work 1 fringe in each row- end dc as before. Trim fringe even. Block scarf to straighten out the fringe.
