• Red Heart Un­for­get­table medium ( worsted) weight acrylic yarn ( 31/2 oz/ 270 yds/ 100g per skein):

2 skeins # 3943 stained glass • Size H/ 8/ 5mm cro­chet hook or size needed

to ob­tain gauge • Lock­ing stitch marker • Ta­pes­try nee­dle

GAUGE

3 feather sts = 5 inches; 6 rows = 4 inches Take time to check gauge.

PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Fas­ten off yarn at end of each row. Join with be­gin­ning clus­ter in first stitch of each row. Scarf is worked length­wise with right side fac­ing at all times.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

Be­gin­ning 2- dou­ble cro­chet clus­ter (beg 2- dc cl): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and pull up lp, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, ch 1, yo, insert hook in same st, yo and pull up lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, ch 1. 2- dou­ble cro­chet clus­ter (2- dc cl): Yo, insert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and pull up lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook, yo, insert hook in same st, yo and pull up lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] 3 times. Feather stitch (F- st): Ch 5, yo, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yo and pull up lp, [yo, insert hook in next ch, yo and pull up lp] 3 times (9 lps on hook), yo, draw through first 2 lps on hook, [yo, draw through 3 lps on hook] 3 times, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook.

SCARF

Row 1: [Ch 1, F- st (see Spe­cial Stitches)] 50 times, ch 1. Fas­ten off (see Pat­tern Notes). (50 F-sts)

Row 2: Beg 2- dc cl (see Spe­cial Stitches) in first ch st, [F- st, sk F- st of pre­vi­ous row, 2- dc cl (see Spe­cial Stitches) in next ch st] across. Fas­ten off. (50 F-sts, 51 2- dc cls)

Rows 3–14: Beg 2- dc cl, [F- st, sk F- st of pre­vi­ous row, 2- dc cl with first leg in back lp (see Stitch Guide) of next 2- dc cl, and 2nd leg in back lp of first ch of ch-5 from the next F- st] across. Fas­ten off.
