MATERIALS

• Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet size 10 crochet cotton (white: 400 yds; solids: 350 yds per ball): 50 yds #428 mint green 10 yds each #1 white and #856 peacock 5 yds each #484 myrtle green, #431 pumpkin, #805 blue Hawaii, #494 victory red and #422 golden yellow • Size 7/1.65mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • 10mm glue-on wiggle eyes: 4 • 23mm plastic foam balls: 7 • 5mm yellow pompoms: 2 • Cotton ball • Craft glue • Stitch marker

9 sc = 1 inch

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. These amigurumi are not toys and are not recommende­d for children 3 and under. Use stitch marker to mark rounds unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCH

4-treble crochet cluster (4-tr cl): Ch 4, *yo hook twice, insert hook in same st, yo, draw up a lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, rep from * 3 times (5 lps on hook), yo, draw through all 5 lps on hook, ch 4, sl st in same sc, sl st in next sc.

BUNNY

BODY

Rnd 1 (RS): With mint green, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, place marker (see Pattern Notes). Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times. (18 sc) Rnd 4: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times. (24 sc) Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around. Rnds 6–8: Rep rnd 5. At end of rnd 8, insert plastic foam ball. Rnd 9: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sc] 6 times. (18 sc) Rnd 10: [Sc in next sc, sc dec in next 2 sc] 6 times. (12 sc) Rnd 11: [Sc dec in next 2 sc] 6 times, join (see Pattern Notes) in next sc, leaving 15-inch length, fasten off. (6 sc)

HEAD

Rnds 1–11: Rep rnds 1–11 of Body. Using 15-inch length, sew rnd 11 of Body to rnd 11 of Head

ARM

Make 2. Rnd 1: With mint green, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, place marker.

Rnds 2–7: Sc in each sc around. At end of rnd 7, join in next sc, leaving 8-inch length, fasten off. Using 8-inch length, sew rnd 7 of each Arm at side edge of Body, tack rnd 1 of Arm at center front of Body.

EAR

Front

Rnd 1 (RS): With white, ch 15, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 4 chs, hdc in each of next 3 chs, dc in each of next 5 chs, 8 dc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, dc in each of next 5 chs, hdc in each of next 3 chs, sc in each of next 4 chs, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (35 sts)

Back

Rnd 1 (RS): With mint green, rep rnd 1 of Front, do not fasten off. Rnd 2: Holding WS of Front and Back tog, with Front facing, matching sts and working through both thicknesse­s, ch 1, sc in each of next 16 sts, 2 sc in each of next 6 sts, sc in each of next 13 sts, join in beg sc, leaving 12-inch length, fasten off.

Assembly

Sew Ears to each side of rnd 2 of Head. Tack each inside edge of each Ear slightly below Arm.

FOOT

Main Section

Rnd 1: With mint green, ch 7, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, 8 dc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, join in beg sc. Fasten off each of first 2 Feet. Do not fasten off 3rd or 4th Foot.

Assembly

Rnd 2: Holding WS of 2 Main Sections of Feet tog and working through both thicknesse­s, sl st in each st around, leaving 12-inch length, fasten off. Using 12-inch length, sew Feet to center bottom of Body.

TAIL

Rnds 1–3: Rep rnds 1–3

of Body. (18 sc)

Rnds 4 & 5: Rep rnd 5 of Body.

Rnd 6: Rep rnd 10 of Body, join in next sc, leaving 12-inch length, fasten off. (12 sc) Insert a scrap of cotton ball in Tail, using 12inch length, sew rnd 6 closed and sew Tail to lower backside portion of Body.

RAIN HAT

Rnd 1: With peacock, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: 4-tr cl (see Special Stitch) in each sc around. Fasten off.

LEAF & STEM

Row 1: With myrtle green, ch 20, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each of next 6 chs, ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 2 chs, sl st in next foundation ch, sl st in each of rem 12 chs, leaving 12-inch length, fasten off.

Assembly

Using 12-inch length, sew beg end of Stem to rnd 2 of Head pointing to left side. Tack just below leaf to Body below left Arm. Sew Rain Hat slightly forward to top of Head. Glue pompom to center of Rain Hat.

FINISHING

Glue eyes to front of Head.

BODY Make 1 each myrtle green, pumpkin, blue & red. Rnds 1–11: Rep rnds 1–11 of Bunny Body. Sew 4 Body sections tog curving slightly in an arc.

HEAD

Rnds 1–11: With yellow, rep rnds 1–11 of Bunny Body. Sew rnd 11 of Head over rnds 3 and 4 of end Body section.

HAT

Rnd 1: With peacock, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, place marker.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times. (18 sc)

Rnds 4 & 5: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 6: Fpsc (see Stitch Guide) in each sc around. Rnd 7: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join in next sc. Fasten off. (24 sc) Sew Hat to center top of Head.

FLOWER

Rnd 1: With white, ch 2, [sc, ch 1, dc, ch 1] 5 times in 2nd ch from hook, join in beg sc, leaving a 12-inch length, fasten off. Pull 12-inch length to close center of Flower. Thread rem length on needle and [pass needle down through center of flower, position thread so it is over sc, pull gently] over each sc to define each petal, secure end, fasten off. Glue Flower to side edge of Hat Brim and glue pompom to center of Flower.
