MATERIALS
• Tahki Yarns Cotton Classic light (DK) weight cotton yarn (13/4 oz/ 108 yds/50g per skein): 3 skeins #3803 sky blue • Kreinik Reflective Yarn (25 yds per spool): 8 spools • Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • Sewing needle • Blue sewing thread • 11/2-inch-wide Prym Babyville Boutique EZ Adjust hook-andloop tape: #35075 blue
GAUGE
9 hdc = 2 inches; 11 hdc rows = 3 inches
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Use 1 strand each blue and Reflective Yarn held together throughout unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of row counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL STITCH
Offset half double crochet (offset hdc): Hdc in sp between sts of previous row, do not work in top of sts.
ARMBAND
Row 1: With 1 strand each blue and Reflective Yarn held tog (see Pattern Notes), ch 10, hdc in 3rd ch from hook (2 sk chs count as first hdc), hdc in each rem ch across, turn. (9 hdc) Row 2: Ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), work offset hdc (see Special Stitch) across row, turn. (9 hdc) Rows 3–57: Rep row 2. At the end of row 57, fasten off.
EARBUDS POCKET
Row 1: With 1 strand each blue and Reflective Yarn held tog, ch 17, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each rem ch across, turn. (15 hdc) Rows 2–13: Rep row 2 of Armband. At the end of row 13, do not turn. Row 14: Turn work to the right, and working along top edge of Pocket, [ch 1, sl st] 11 times. Fasten off. (11 sl sts)
PLAYER HOLDER
Note: The extra-long Flap closure will accommodate most music players 5 inches or taller.
Add a couple more chs/hdc to row 1 for taller music players. If a wider holder is needed, add 1 or more additional rows after row 9, before working row 10.
Row 1: With 1 strand each blue and Reflective Yarn, ch 38, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across, turn. (37 hdc) Row 2: Rep row 2 of Armband. (37 hdc) Row 3: Ch 2, work 26 offset hdc across row, ch 8, sk next 8 sps, work offset hdc in each of next 2 sps, turn. (29 hdc) Row 4: Ch 2, work 2 offset hdc in first sp, hdc in each of next 8 chs, offset hdc in each of next 26 sps, turn. (37 hdc) Rows 5–9: Rep row 2 of Armband. (37 hdc) Row 10: Ch 2, hdc in each of next 2 sps, ch 8, sk next 8 sps, offset hdc in each of next 26 sps, turn. (29 hdc)
Row 11: Ch 2, offset hdc in each of next 26 sps, 2 offset hdc in next sp, hdc in each of next 8 chs, offset hdc in each of next 2 sps, turn. (37 hdc) Row 12: Ch 2, work offset hdc across row, turn. (37 hdc)
ASSEMBLY
Row 1: Fold up opposite end of Holder, with ends of rows even and working in tops of sts of both layers, ch 1, sl st in same st as beg ch-1, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 3 times, lay opposite side of beg ch of Pocket row 1 on Holder, with all side edges even and working in tops of sts of all 3 layers, [(ch 1, sl st) in next ch of Pocket and next st of both layers of Holder] 14 times to bottom fold of Holder. Fasten off. (18 sl sts) Row 2: Join (see Pattern Notes)
blue and Reflective Yarn to RS of bottom fold on opposite side of Holder, [ch 1, sl st] 14 times through all 3 layers in same manner as row 1, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 4 times through both layers of Holder to top edge, do not fasten off. (18 sl sts)
TOP EDGE
Rnd 1: Now working in rnds, turn work to right and working along top edge of Holder, [ch 1, sl st] 22 times around
top of Holder, join in beg ch-1, turn. (22 sl sts)
FLAP
Row 1: Now working in rows on WS of Holder back, [sl st in next ch-1 sp] 5 times, ch 2, hdc in same sp as last sl st, [hdc in same sp as next sl st] 4 times, turn. (6 hdc)
Rows 2–17: Rep row 2 of Armband. Insert music player in Holder and earbuds in Pocket. Add or omit rows of Flap as needed so Flap fits over music player and will end over Pocket to secure with hook-and-loop tape. Last row: Ch 1, sl st in sp between last 2 hdc of previous row, [ch 1, sk next sp, sl st in next sp] twice. Fasten off.

ASSEMBLY Use 1 strand blue to sew bottom edge of Earbud Pocket to bottom of Holder. Cut hook-and-loop tape in desired length pieces, and use needle and thread to sew where desired to create closures on each end of Armband and to secure Flap end to front of Earbud Pocket.
WAISTBAND
Row 1: Rep row 1 of Armband.

Rows 2–116: Rep row 2 of Armband. At the end of row 116, fasten off or rep to desired length. Rep rem Armband instructions to complete Waistband.
