SPECIAL STITCHES

Shell: 7 dc in indicated st. Bead single crochet (bead

sc): Drop lp from hook, pick up size 0 steel hook, place bead on hook, draw lp through center of bead, drop lp from hook, with size I hook, complete sc.

BASKET

Rnd 1 (RS): Holding 1 strand each turqua and teal tog (see

Pattern Notes), ch 4, join (see

Pattern Notes) to form a ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join in beg sc. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. (16 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc] around, join in beg sc. (24 sc)

Rnd 4: Ch 1, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, join in beg sc. (36 sc)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 2 sc] around, join in beg sc. (48 sc)

Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join in beg sc.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 5 sc] around, join in beg sc. (56 sc) Rnd 8: Rep rnd 6. Rnd 9: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 6 sc] around, join in beg sc. (64 sc)

Rnd 17: Join 1 strand teal with wildflower, rep rnd 6.

Rnds 18 & 19: Rep rnd 6. At the end of rnd 19, fasten off teal only.

Rnd 20: Join 1 strand turqua with wildflower, rep rnd 6.

Rnd 21: Rep rnd 6. At the end of rnd 21, fasten off turqua only.

Rnds 22–24: Rep rnds 17–19. At the end of rnd 24, fasten off teal only.

Rnd 25: Join 1 strand Aruba sea with wildflower, rep rnd 6.

Rnd 26: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 7 sc] around, join in beg sc. (72 sc) Rnd 27: Rep rnd 6. Rnd 28: Ch 1, [2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 8 sc] around, join in beg sc. At the end of rnd 28, fasten off both colors. (80 sc)

Rnd 29: Join 1 strand each turqua and teal, rep rnd 6.

Rnd 30: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *sk next 3 sc, shell (see Special

Stitches) in next sc, sk next 3 sc**, sc in next sc, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in beg sc. Fasten off turqua only.

Rnd 31: Working with 1 strand teal only, ch 1, working loosely, except when adding beads,

bead sc (see Special Stitches) in first sc, *sc in each of next 3 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next dc, sc in each of next 3 dc**, bead sc in next sc, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

FLOWER

Make 2.

Rnd 1: With 1 strand of turqua, ch 4, join to form a ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: Join 1 strand teal in any sc, ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in each sc around, join in beg sc, leaving a 10-inch length, fasten off. Position Flowers to cover joining seam and sew in place with rem length. Thread 8-inch length of teal through bead, draw tails through center of rnd 1 of Flower and tie ends tog on inside of Basket.
