Crochet Connections

I hope someone can help me. I have a friend who has colon cancer. He asked me to crochet a teddy bear for him. Since he is a big man, he wants it to be big like him. He is about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, and he wants the bear to be at least 20 inches tall. I can crochet almost anything with a pattern, but I’m not very good at enlarging a pattern. Would anyone have such a pattern? I also have some redheeled socks and always meant to make monkeys with them, but doubt I ever will. Would someone like to have them? I also have the instructions that came with them. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

I would like patterns and/or ideas for “tuck ins” and items I could make to help at church fundraisers, as well as for sharing. I am also hoping for ideas for prayer shawls; I have made shawls to send to other cancer patients/survivors but would like a few other ideas for special phrasing others may have. I will gladly reimburse you for photocopies, postage, etc. Thank you for your help. Linda McCormick, P.O. Box 252, Topeka, KS 66601

I haven’t been able to find a baby girl’s poncho pattern, size 18 to 24 months. I’ve looked everywhere! I hope someone can help me, just as these talented women have done before. It goes without saying how much I have enjoyed this magazine over the years. Nancy Berner, 2766 62nd Ave. N., Apt 5, St. Petersburg, FL 33702

First of all I would like to thank everyone who responded to my American flag request in the December 2013 Crochet

Hello! I am looking for a ragdoll pattern to use up my scrap yarn. If anyone out there has a pattern for rag dolls, I would greatly appreciate it. I will pay postage. I also have plenty of crochet books and magazines, including Hooked on Crochet, Annie’s Attic, Crochet World and much more. Thank you very much! Sue A. Foster, 902 N. I am looking for patterns of crochet ponchos for larger women. I have a friend who has had a stroke and can’t zip or button up her coat or jackets. I thought a poncho would be the very thing for her. If anyone has any poncho patterns, I would love to have some. I thank you all in advance. Judy Canter, 612 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Bristol, TN 37620

I have been knitting, sewing and crocheting as long as I can remember. A couple years ago, a friend of mine let me borrow a pattern for a baby afghan to which we added extra stitches to make it big enough for an adult. She can’t remember which one she lent me, and in my move from one place to another, I lost my copy. It was made completely in an X stitch, and if anyone has a copy, I would appreciate it very much. I will pay postage. Also pen pals are welcome. Carol Myers, 11 Anthony Ave., Clarksburg, WV 26301

I really enjoy crocheting for baby boys and girls with teenage mothers. I’d like to know if someone can send me patterns for baby boys’ and girls’ dresses, booties and pants as well as any other patterns for them. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I am now confined to a wheelchair and am trying to learn how to crochet to pass the time. I would like to have some beginner patterns of doilies.
