Row 1: With WS facing, find and place stitch markers on center front 16 [20] sts of Hat and work-

ing in front lps, join red, ch 2, hdc in each of next 15 [19] sts, turn. (16 [20] hdc) Row 2: Working in front lp only, ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn. (16 [20] hdc) Rep row 2 until Front Flap measures 4 [41/2] inches. Fasten off.

TRIM

Rnd 1: With RS facing, join red at center back of Hat, ch 2, sc evenly sp around entire outer edge of Hat, working 3 sc in each outer corner of Front Flap, join in beg sc. Rnd 2: Ch 1, reverse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each st around, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Fold Front Flap upward onto Body of Hat. Using photo as a guide, sew 1 button to each outer corner of Front Flap.
