TOE
Rnd 1 (RS): With fern, form
a slip ring (see illustration), ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), 11 dc in ring, join (see Pattern Notes) in 3rd ch of beg ch-2. Pull rem beg length to close opening of slip ring. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in same st as beg ch-2, 2 dc in each rem st around, join in 2nd ch of beg ch-2. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc] around, join in beg ch-2. Fasten off. (36 dc)
Rnds 4 & 5: Join silk, ch 1, beg in same st as beg ch-1, [sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st] 6 times, join in beg sc. At the end of rnd 5, draw up a lp of royal, fasten off silk.
Rnds 6 & 7: With royal, ch 1, sc in each st around, join in beg sc. At the end of rnd 7, fasten off royal, draw up a lp of silk in a sc
directly above 2nd dc of any 2-dc group of rnd 5. (36 sc)
Rnds 8 & 9: Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch-1, hdc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st, [sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st] around. At the end of rnd 9, fasten off silk.
Rnd 10: Join fern in first dc of any 2-dc group of previous rnd, ch 1, sc in same dc, sc in next dc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 sc, hdc in next hdc, [sc in each of next 2 dc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 sc, hdc in next hdc] around, join in beg sc.
Rnd 11: Ch 1, [sc in each of next 2 sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 dc, hdc in next hdc] around, join. Fasten off.
Rnds 12 & 13: With silk, rep rnds 10 and 11.
Rnds 14 & 15: With royal, rep rnds 6 and 7. At the end of rnd 15, fasten off royal.

Place stitch marker in joining and proceed to row 1 of Heel.
