FINISHED MEASUREMEN­TS 46 inches x 60 inches, excluding fringe MATERIALS • Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (31/2 oz/170 yds/100g per skein): 4 skeins each #171 fern,

#174 olive and #124 toffee 3 skeins each #158 mustard, #130 honey and #134 terracotta • Size N/15/10mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • Locking stitch markers: at least 6 GAUGE 11 dc = 6 inches PATTERN NOTES Afghan is worked vertically from side edge to side edge in 1 piece. Hold 2 strands together throughout. Fasten off after each row. Work last stitch of old color completely before fastening off; chain 1 to secure. Leave 10-inch tails throughout to be incorporat­ed into fringes when joining and fastening off colors. Join new color with slip stitch through both loops of first stitch of row, regardless of how the remainder of the row is worked, unless otherwise stated. Chain-1 at beginning of row counts as first stitch unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of row counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 counts as at first beginning double of crochet row unless otherwise stated. Work loosely. slip stitches in leaf rows Do not remove markers until instructed. Leaf: Working on RS, sk next 9 sts, work 8-yo post (see Special Stitches) in both lps of next st (2 lps rem on hook), work 6-yo post (see Special Stitches) in the 2 marked lps of previous post (3 lps rem on hook); inserting hook in each previous post’s marked lps, work 5-yo post (see Special Stitches) and 2 4-yo

posts (see Special Stitches) (6 lps rem on hook, 5 posts made), yo and pull through all lps on hook (leaf made). Remove markers. Keep leaf on RS.

FINISHING

With tapestry needle and 1 strand of matching color, taking care not to twist leaf, sew a few hidden sts through back of leaf posts to secure center of each leaf. For each fringe, cut 20-inch lengths of up to 10 strands, depending on number of tails incorporat­ed. Use matching colors plus nearby tails of any color in each fringe. Place a fringe in each corner and evenly sp (approximat­ely 2 inches apart) between corners. Trim ends even. CW
