FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 511/4 inches x 603/4 inches MATERIALS • Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 364 yds/198g per skein): 5 skeins #312 black (MC) 1,300 yds/25 oz assorted scrap colors (CC) (each 2-row stripe requires approximately 24 yds) • Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or
size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle GAUGE 12 dc = 4 inches; 15 rows = 4 inches PATTERN NOTES Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. To change colors, work to last stitch of row, insert hook in last stitch, yarn over, draw loop through (2 loops on hook), yarn over with new color and draw through both loops on hook. Do not fasten off main color, but carry loosely up edge of work. SPECIAL STITCHES Single crochet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.
Shell: Work 3 dc in unworked front lp of next st 3 rows below, sk next 3 sts of current row. (Counts as 3 sts for st count.)
AFGHAN Row 1 (RS): With MC, ch 150, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, turn. (149 sts) Row 2: With MC, ch 1, sc in each st across, change color (see Pattern Notes) to CC in last st, turn.
Row 3: With CC, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 sts, *sc in back lp (see
Stitch Guide) of next st**, sc in each of next 11 sts, rep from * across ending last rep at **, sc in each of last 2 sts, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change to MC in last st, turn.
