PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Slip ring: Leaving 4-inch end, lap yarn over 4-inch end forming lp (see illustrati­on), insert hook through lp from front to back, yo, pull through lp to form ring, yo, pull through lp on hook. Beginning V-st (beg V-st): Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3), dc in same st or sp.

V-stitch (V-st): (Dc, ch 3, dc) in indicated st or sp. Beginning 2 double crochet cluster (beg cl): Ch 2, yo, insert hook into specified st or sp, yo, pull up a lp, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice. 2 double crochet cluster (cl): [Yo, insert hook into specified st or sp, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook. Join with single crochet (join with sc): Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and draw up a lp, yo and pull through both lps on hook.

Long treble crochet (ltr): Yo 2 times, go over specified sts, yo, draw up a lp high enough to align with top of rnd, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] 3 times.

Picot: Ch 3, sl st into top of last st made. Medium picot (med picot): Ch 7, sl st into top of last st made. Large picot (lg picot): Ch 11, sl st into top of last st made. Split double crochet (split dc): Yo, insert hook into first sp, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, yo, insert hook into 2nd sp, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook.
