Center-to-Corner Afghan
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. For indicated color of each round, see Assembly Diagram on page 62. Join with Slip slip Knot #3 stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Use care to follow RS and WS Slip Knot #3 of rounds. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL STITCH
Single crochet join (sc join): Place slip knot (see illustration) on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook.
AFGHAN BLOCK 1

Rows 1–6: Rep rows 1–6 of Block 1. Rep rows 1–6 for rem 3 corners.
Joining Blocks
Referring to placement diagram, work as for Block 1 joining on 1 or 2 sides, joining 4 blocks wide by 5 long. To join at ch-2 sps, ch 1, drop lp, draw lp under to over (or back to
front, or WS to RS) through opposite ch-2 sp, ch 1 and continue. To join corner while connecting 1 side to another, ch 2, drop lp, draw lp under to over through opposite ch-3 sp, ch 1 and continue. To join where 4 corners meet, ch 1, drop lp, draw lp under to over through opposite ch-3 sp to the right, ch 1. Drop lp, sk next corner ch-3 sp, draw lp under to over through next corner ch-3 sp, ch 1 and continue. With all Blocks joined, fasten off.
Border
