FINISHED MEASUREMEN­T

11 inches tall from top of Ears to bottom

MATERIALS

• Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 364 yds/198g per skein): 4 oz #316 soft white 18 yds #373 petal pink 4 yds each #668 honeydew, #530 orchid and #505 Aruba sea 3 yds #235 lemon • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • Stitch marker • Polyester fiberfill • 6-strand embroidery floss in blue, dark gray and pink: 2 yds each • 5/8-inch-wide pink ribbon: 1 yd (optional)

GAUGE 4 sc = 1 inch; 4 rows = 1 inch PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Do not join rounds or turn unless otherwise stated. Place stitch marker at beginning of round and move up as each round is completed. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCH

Loop stitch (lp st): Wrap yarn from front to back over index finger, insert hook in next st and under strands of yarn from behind index finger, draw through 2 lps on hook and remove lp from finger.

BUNNY HEAD

Beg at top of Head and with soft white, ch 6.

Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 chs, 3 sc in last ch, working in opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 3 chs, 2 sc in last ch. Do not join, place marker (see Pattern Notes) for beg of each rnd. (12 sc) Rnd 2: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc. (18 sc)

Rnd 3: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24 sc)

Rnd 4: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30 sc)

Rnd 5: (Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36 sc)

Rnd 6: (Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (42 sc)

Rnd 7: (Sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (48 sc)

Rnds 8–19: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 20: (Sc in next 6 sc, sc dec— see Stitch Guide in next 2 sc) around. (42 sc)

Rnd 21: (Sc in next 5 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) around. (36 sc)

Rnd 22: (Sc in next 4 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) around. (30 sc)

Rnd 23: (Sc in next 3 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) around. (24 sc)

Rnd 24: (Sc in next 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) around, join

(see Pattern Notes) in beg sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. (18 sc) Stuff Head with fiberfill.

BODY

Rnds 1–7: Rep rnds 1–7 of Head. (48 sc) Rnd 8: (Sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (54 sc) Rnds 9–20: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 21: (Sc in next 7 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) around. (48 sc) Rnds 22–26: Rep rnds 20–24 of Head. Stuff Body with fiberfill. Sew bottom seam lengthwise, parallel to foundation ch.

Ear Make 2. Back

With soft white, ch 10.

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 7 chs, 3 sc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 8 chs, ch 1, turn. (19 sc)

Row 2: Sc in first 3 sc, hdc in next 5 sc, 2 hdc in each of next 3 sc, hdc in next 5 sc, sc in last 3 sc, ch 1, turn. (22 sts)

Row 3: Sc in first 8 sts, 2 sc in each of next 6 sts, sc in rem 8 sts, ch 1, turn. (28 sc)

Row 4: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.

Front

With petal pink, work same as rows 1–3 of Back, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to soft white at end of row 3.

Row 4: Sc in each sc across. Do not fasten off. Holding Back and Front with WS tog and working through both thicknesse­s, sc in each st around. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Hold ends of row 3 tog to slightly curve Ear and, referring to photo for placement, sew in place on Head with end tail, st tightly at each end so Ear stands firmly upright.

Tail

With soft white, ch 2.

Row 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. Row 2: Lp st (see Special Stitch) in each st across, ch 1, turn. (6 lp sts) Row 3: 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. (12 sc) Row 4 and all even-num

bered rows: Lp st in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 5: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) across, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)

Row 7: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)

Row 9: (Sc in 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc) across, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)

Row 10: Lp st in each sc across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Carefully sew side seam, keeping lps on outside. Stuff lightly. Slightly gather opening and sew Tail in place.

Back Foot & Leg Make 2.

Beg at toe and with soft white, ch 2. Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18 sc) Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 5: (Sc dec in next 2 sc) 6 times, sc in rem 6 sc. (12 sc)

Rnds 6–11: Sc in each sc around, join in beg sc at end of last rnd. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff with fiberfill. Flatten rnd 11 and sew flat with toe end up. Sew in place, slightly under Body with toe sticking out.

Front Foot Make 2.

With soft white, ch 2. Work same as Back Foot & Leg through rnd 8, joining in beg sc at end of rnd. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff with fiberfill. Flatten rnd 8 and sew flat with toe end up. Sew in place, slightly under Body.

Flower Make 3 each petal pink, orchid, honeydew & Aruba sea.

Ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook to form a ring, (ch 4, sl st in ring) 5 times, sl st in ring. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Sew Flowers in place scattered on Body. With lemon, embroider French knot (see illustrati­on) in center of each Flower.

FINISHING Face

Refer to photo on page 18 for guide of placement of embroidery sts. Work all facial features with 6 strands of embroidery floss. With blue floss, embroider satin

stitches (see illustrati­on) for eyes. With pink floss, embroider satin stitches for nose. With dark gray floss, embroider straight stitches (see illustrati­on) for mouth. Optional: Tie ribbon around neck and trim ends evenly.
