FINISHING Sewing & Attaching Sections

Line zipper up horizontally in 16-st opening and pin in place. Sew zipper in place using a regular sewing needle and matching thread. Thread rem length of patio pinks ombré on tapestry needle and sew left side of zipper pouch to body of case. Place button panel of case to main body with RS facing. Thread tapestry needle with rem length of key lime pie ombré and sew sections tog. With crochet hook and rem 36-inch length of patio pinks ombré from hook pouch, join to WS of button panel’s lower left corner with a sl st, work 24 sc evenly across the bottom section of pouch, button panel and body.

Outer Trim

Continue working with patio pinks ombré along bottom edge of case, sc in each of next 20 sts to next corner, 3 sc in corner st. Using same yarn, join right side of zipper pouch to body section by working 22 sc evenly across edge to next corner, 3 sc in corner st, attach the upper section of zipper pouch to body by working a sc in each of the next 20 sts, sc in each of next 24 sts across rem top section of body and button panel to next corner, 3 sc in corner, continue along next edge by working 22 sc evenly across to beg sl st where hook pouch is attached, do not fasten off.

Inner Pockets

Mark off 5 1-inch-wide sections along top of hook pouch. Using care to work through both thicknesses when forming vertical pockets, with patio pinks ombré, sew in vertical pockets for individual crochet hooks.

Spruce up your project bag and add a touch of spring! Every stitcher needs a place for their hooks and notions, and this one is as fun to make as it is to use!

Place a marker in upper section of zipper pouch 10 sc sts over from edge. Sew in another vertical pocket to divide upper pouch in 2 sections. The case closes in a bi-fold fashion verses in half. Place button in center of button panel, sew in place. Pin flower petals buttonhole along RS outer edge of main case. Make sure to line hole up with the button so case can be closed.
