MATERIALS

• Omega Sinfonia light (DK) weight mercerized cotton yarn (31/2 oz/ 218 yds/100g per skein): 1 skein each #805 brick (A)

and #842 cinnamon (B) • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

GAUGE

10 sc = 2 inches; 10 rows = 2 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Base row is a wrong-side row worked from center to outside edge across 20 chains or stitches. Next 19 rows are worked into base row until the next base row is formed. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. When changing colors at end of each wrong-side row of Striped Dishcloth, carry unused color loosely around outside edge.

SPECIAL STITCH

Single crochet join (sc join): Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and draw up a lp, yo and pull through both lps on hook.

Row 1 (Base Row) (WS): With A, ch 21, sc in back bar (see illustrati­on) of 2nd ch from hook and in back bar of each ch across, change color (see Stitch Guide) to B in last st, turn. (20 sc)

Row 2: With B, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 sts of base row, leave rem sts unworked, turn. (2 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (2 sc)

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each of first 2 sts, sc in each of next 2 sts of base row, turn. (4 sc)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (4 sc)

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each of first 4 sts, sc in each of next 2 sts of base row, turn. (6 sc)

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (6 sc)

Rows 42–120: Rep rows 2–41, then rep rows 2–40, ending with an A-color RS row at center of hexagon. Cut B. Center Now working across ends of rows at center of piece, [insert hook in end of next row, yo, draw lp through and leave on hook] 11 times (12 lps on hook), yo and draw through all 12 lps on hook, ch 1 to close circle, fasten off leaving 10-inch tail for sewing.
