• Bernat Maker Home Dec chunky (bulky) weight cotton/nylon yarn (8.8 oz/317 yds/250g per skein): 1 skein each #11019 pebble
beach and #11009 cream • Size K/101/2/6.5mm and
L/11/8mm crochet hooks • Yarn needle
GAUGE
12 sts and 12 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch Gauge is not critical for this project. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-1 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch.
Row 1 (RS): With size L hook and pebble beach, ch 76, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each rem ch across, turn. (75 hdc) Row 2: Ch 1 (see Pattern Notes), sc in front bar (see illustration) of each hdc across, turn. Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in each sc across, turn. Rows 4–15: [Rep rows 2 and 3]
6 times. At the end of row 15, fasten off. Rows 16–45: Join (see Pattern
Notes) cream, [rep rows 2 and 3] 15 times. At the end of row 45, fasten off, do not turn.
Row 46 (RS): Join pebble beach, ch 1, sc in each hdc across, turn. Rows 47–60: [Rep rows 2 and 3] 7 times. Row 61 (RS): Rep row 2. Fasten off. Rnd 1 (RS): With size K hook, join cream in first st of row 61, ch 1, sc in each of next 74 sts across row, 2 sc in corner, sc 61 evenly across ends of rows, 2 sc in corner, sc 73 across opposite side of foundation ch, 2 sc in corner, sc 61 evenly across ends of rows, sc in same st as beg sc, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (276 sc)
Rnd 2: Join pebble beach in any sc, hdc in each sc around, working 2 hdc in each corner sc, join in beg hdc. Fasten off. (280 hdc) If desired, block bath mat to finished measurements.
