PATTERN NOTES

Afghan is worked lengthwise from side edge to side edge. Leave 7-inch tails to incorporate into fringe when joining and fastening off colors. Work last stitch completely before fastening off; chain 1 to secure. Chain-2 at beginning of half double crochet row counts as first half double crochet. Take care not to accidentally skip the half double crochet next to the turning chain; it is easy to overlook. Chain-1 at beginning of single crochet row does not count as first stitch. Some rows will seem too loose until subsequent rows have been worked. Join with slip stitch as indicated.

Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated place, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through both lps on hook. (Counts as sc.)

Bobble: [Yo, insert hook in indicated st and pull up a lp, yo and pull through 2 lps] 3 times in indicated st, yo and pull through all 4 lps on hook.

Shell: Work 5 dc in indicated st.
